Dewey Selmon is the brother of Hall of Famer Lee Roy Selmon, although his pro career was considerably less decorated. Charlie Davis scored the Bucs’ first-ever regular season touchdown on October 3 but his season and career were cut short by knee injuries. Morris Owens (looking to evade Bills CB Mario Clark) spent his entire pro career in Florida, playing two seasons for the Dolphins and four in Tampa.
QB Jim Zorn started for the expansion Seahawks for its first several seasons. Mike Curtis, who staked his claim to fame with the Baltimore Colts, was selected by Seattle in the 1976 expansion draft but spent just that season there. Sherman Smith, on the other hand, spent all but one season of his career in Seattle.
