The 1969 AFL season was the 10th and final season of the American Football League (AFL). The league instituted a four-team playoff tournament, with the second place teams in each division also participating.
This was the final season that the AFL champion met the NFL champion in the Super Bowl. The AFL evened the series at 2 games each after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 23-7, in Super Bowl IV.
