The 2002 MLS season was the seventh season of Major League Soccer, the top division of soccer in the United States and Canada. It was also the 90th season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer, and the 24th with a national first-division league, in the United States and Canada. The league played with 10 teams after the Tampa Bay Mutiny and Miami Fusion folded during the offseason.
