LeBaron Ward Coakley (December 5, 1901-February 19, 1961) designed program covers for the Washington Redskins in the 1950s and '60s. A veteran of World War I, Coakley was a member of the Art Directors Club of Washington and the American Newspaper Guild. For seven years he was art director of the Richmond News Leader. Coakley left Richmond in 1942 to join the Washington Post. He worked as a freelance cartoonist and artist after he resigned from the Post during World War II.
