The 1949 AAFC season was the fourth and final season of the All-America Football Conference. On December 9, 1949, two days before the AAFC title game, the league agreed merged some of its franchises into the National Football League. Three AAFC teams were admitted to the NFL: the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and Baltimore Colts. The Los Angeles Dons merged with the Los Angeles Rams, while the Bills, Yankees, and Hornets folded. The enlarged league was renamed the National-American Football League.
