The 1976-77 Minnesota Fighting Saints were actually a new iteration of the team. The Cleveland Crusaders moved to St. Paul and simply assumed the prior team's name. However, the team's primary colors were changed from royal blue, gold, and white to scarlet, gold, and white. They were also branded as the "New Fighting Saints" on many publications, such as the media guide.
