Today’s wire photo comes from the October 21, 1956 regular season matchup between the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Colts, played at Wrigley Field. Chicago romped in this one, 58-27, en route to a trip to the NFL Championship game in December.
On a side note, I sure do love those old double horseshoe Colts helmets.
This photo captures Bears RB Rick Casares scoring a 2nd-quarter touchdown despite the best effort of Colts DB Jesse Thomas. Also seen are Carl Taseff (#23), Bill Pellington (#36), and Royce Womble (#36).
