March Madness is nearly upon us so I thought I’d use this edition of Ticket Please to look at the tournament’s past. Here is a ticket for a second-round game between UNLV and UTEP. It took place on March 17, 1984 at the then-Special Events Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Runnin’ Rebels defeated the Miners, 73-60, to advance to the West Regionals. They made it all the way to the Regional Semifinals before falling to the eventual champion Georgetown Hoyas.
