Here’s a sample of the official New York Giants newsletter, Giants Touchdown, from August 1977. It was the cusp of a new season and the G-Men were hoping to improve on their dismal 3-11 showing in 1976.
Running backs Doug Kotar and Larry Csonka, featured on the front page, rushed for 480 and 464 yards in 1977, respectively. The team was led, however, by Bobby Hammond’s 577 yards. The team improved by just two wins that season, finishing in a tie for last place in the NFC East with the Philadelphia Eagles.
