The Name Remains the Same #2: Doug Brown

Seeing as Doug Brown is a pretty common name, I’m surprised it hasn’t popped up more in the sports world. But according to Wikipedia there haven’t been that many of them to date and even fewer have played a major pro sport.

Today’s series entry features a pair of Doug Browns from different sports. First is one who played in both the CFL and NFL from 1997-2011. Here is Doug Brown #1 on a 2003 Winnipeg Blue Bombers cover.

The other Doug Brown will be more familiar to hockey fans. Doug Brown #2 played in the National Hockey League with the New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Detroit Red Wings between 1987 and 2001.

Here he is with the Devils, located in the third row, third from the left.
