NFL Head Coach Tenure Tracker (Updated 10/5/2015)

Well that didn’t take long at all. Not even a week after I published the premier edition of my NFL Head Coach Tenure Tracker, we have our first casualty. The 1-3 Miami Dolphins announced the firing of head coach Joe Philbin and the appointment of tight ends coach Dan Campbell as interim head coach. This means that there are just two members of the NFL’s class of 2012 head coaches left — Jeff Fisher of the Rams and Chuck Pagano of the Colts.

Philbin’s firing puts the current tenure average for all head coaches at 4.05 years. It had been at 4.15 last week.
