The world of college football is mourning the sudden passing of Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach Mike Leach, who died on December 12 at 61 following complications from a heart condition.
Leach is widely considered one of the greatest offensive coaches of the last few decades. After a string of assistant positions he landed his first head coaching gig at Texas Tech in 2000. Here he is on the front of a program from a Red Raiders game at Ohio State.

From Lubbock, Leach went on to coach Washington State and Mississippi State. While he enjoyed some success at both schools his coaching legacy was largely built on his 84-43 record — including five bowl game victories — at Texas Tech.
