2020 has been an unprecedented year in the world of sports, and English Football is no exception. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EFL League Championship made the decision on March 13th to suspend its 2019-20 season indefinitely. On May 13th the league’s clubs voted to resume play. The season started up again on June 20th and the playoffs concluded on August 4th.
So while promotion happened later than normal, the following three clubs earned the right to play in the Premier League next season: Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion by virtue of total points and Fulham by virtue of winning the playoffs.
