Here’s a cool program from the 1983-84 American Hockey League (AHL) season, from a Moncton Alpines home game against the Nova Scotia Voyageurs.

Moncton Alpines (AHL), 1983-84 program

The Alpines (1982-87) were based in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, and were originally the minor league affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. They replaced the New Brunswick Hawks team in the AHL for the 1982-83 season. The connection with the Oilers is apparent in both the logo and color scheme seen on this cover.

Following the 1983-84 AHL season the Alpines were bought by the Calgary Flames and renamed the Moncton Golden Flames. The franchise folded in 1987 and was replaced by the Winnipeg Jets’ affiliate, the Moncton Hawks.
